Clinton voters not buying the Obama scam

from newsmax.com

1. Bill Clinton Voters Not Yet Backing Obama

Barack Obama desperately needs the support of Bill and Hillary Clinton voters if he's to win the presidential race in November — and so far he's not getting it.

That's the view expressed by NBC News political director Chuck Todd during an appearance with host Chris Matthews on MSNBC's "Hardball" on Wednesday. Republican John McCain and Democrat Obama have "carved up" the partisan vote and "the vote that is left to get is a vote that loves Hillary Clinton," Todd said.

"They make less than $50,000. They're Catholics … They live in small towns and rural America, the places that Bill Clinton spent all his time campaigning. And oh, by the way, they love Bill Clinton."

Matthews stated that 11 percent of voters "are sitting out there, loving the Clintons, not liking Barack Obama. What has to happen between now and November to get that critical 11 percent to move into Barack Obama's column?"

What is needed, Todd observed, is for both Hillary and especially Bill Clinton to speak strongly in support of Obama at the Democratic Convention and convince the undecided that Obama is ready to be president.

Todd: "The Clintons have to make the case, I know this guy, he's ready, I like him, he can lead."

Matthews: "Can they do it?"

Todd: "I don't know."

Todd said he's confident that Hillary will express strong support for Obama, but added: "It's the Bill Clinton question, I think, that a lot of people are going to watch."

Matthews noted that people believe Bill is angry about the way the Barack campaign dealt with him in the primaries and is reluctant to help him win.

Said Todd: "You've got to assume he's going to say and do all the right things. But how does he say it? What kind of enthusiasm is behind it?...

"Maybe the election eventually won't be about the Clintons, but … whether Obama likes it or not, the group of voters he has yet to unite are Clinton Democrats."

Wouldn't it be great if these voters actually voted on policy instead of who they liked or who they wanted to win?

Are you sure you want to suggest this? If people heed your advice, Obama may not receive a single vote.

No Todd, for you and that 11% rolleyes this election is about the Clintons! For the rest of the country, with the exception of some NeoCons I can think of, this election is about picking the best person to govern our country and restoring our nation from the stench of the last 8 years of Bushshit!

YES WE DID!!! President Barack Obama!!!

It's time to Speak On It, America!

aren't we voting for a person? and not a collection of policies?
who needs a person for that at all, if that's the case??

aren't we voting for a free-willing person who is going to be making decisions? somebody we have to, first of all, trust to do what he says, and implement the policies he is selling?

really? "Obama scam"? Anyone who voted for Bush and expected a competent, conservative government, or actually believed the case for the Iraq War, need look no further than a mirror to see a sucker, and has no business pointing out any other marks.

That was the biggest scam in recent history, and the Reps are trying their hardest to bury their heads in the sand about it.

To build on this point: If this happens (and I pray to God that it doesn't), then one thing will become glaringly obvious - we will have proof that the Las Vegas theory (stupid people like bright lights) works.

While the media is involved I think this is more viral than anything else. Every political site I visit, if there is a thread bout Hillary its apeshit crazy on both sides.

This primary divided a lot of the democrats, and as of yet neither side have calmed down. At this point Hillary could give the greatest speech bout Barry and his ability to lead this country and large part of her supporters aren't going to "buy it".

On the other side are blogs on how this 3 am text(bout the VP choice) was a one final kick in the face to hillary and her supporters. And the blogs are Pro Obama, not Hillary supporters complaining or trying to stir shit up.

The more I read bout this stuff, the more I think, though I'm still against it, Barry should have picked Hillary.

He could have chosen a later time to deal with Bill.

LMFAO. I guess you didn't know that about 25% of the GOP voters that voted in Republican primaries AFTER John McCain sewed up the nomination, and voted AGAINST McCain.

Think about that.

Hundreds of thousands of Republicans disliked John McCain so much that they took time away from their families and jobs just to go vote in a meaningless primary AGAINST their certain nominee. In some primaries, THIRTY PERCENT of the voters went against McCain.

Now, let me ask you this: Do you seriously think those people that obviously have a big problem with McCain are going to vote for Obama?

Hillary supporters are apparently willing to cut off their nose to spite their face.
They live in a fantasy and then wonder why a woman can't get elected . . .

Give them the vote and this is how they act? (tongue in cheek . . .)

If the Clinton voters are that childish, in the words of the late great Bernie Mac; F*&k 'em!!! F*&k 'em up against the wall with handcuffs on and crazy glue on their lips!!!...I am very sorry Mods..please forgive me.

All Obama has to do is be himself. He can't please everybody, especially the little selfish Clinton supporters. The dude offered to help pay her debts down. That aint good enough. He played nice during the whole primary. That wasn't good enough for the Clinton groupies. Bottom line, if they don't like Obama, vote for McCain, Nader, Mickey Mouse, whomever...I don't care!!!

really? the GOP has proven it can't run a government, and can't even b e trusted to honor its basic "principles." only a fool or a sucker could see what the current GOP administration hath wrought as anything but abject failure. and its current nominee would give us more of the same. the polls show that americans in large numbers favor policy change, but are reluctant to support obama though he favors the same changes the public wants: in iraq policy, in the economy, et cetera.

and you think obama will lose on policy? oh, i hope you're kidding.

obama may well lose, but it won't be because of policies.
