What an awful thing to say - and what pure bullshit. The Republicans have a hell of a lot more respect for the traditions of this country (such as the electoral process) than left-wing moonbats like you. No one's ever so poor, they can't pick up their yard. Grandma Loy

How come they stole the last 2 elections then with dodgy voting machines if they "respect the electoral process"? Sounds like Zimbabwe but with more Macdonalds to me [Edited 8/26/08 5:17am]

Sad to say, this doesn't surprise me one bit. The residents in my building received a two-sided legal-sized circular with the heading "Should Senator Obama and his wife and kids should be assassinated because of his connection with the 9/11 terrorists?" On both sides of the circular it tried to list his connections and say he was a muslim, which of course was BS. There was no name of any particular organization, but it stated at the bottom to copy and send it to as many people as possible.

It's just getting crazy with these nuts out there doing whatever they can to demean Senator Obama, so that news about the psychos trying to assassinate him is no surprise. Seems America hasn't changed that much. [Edited 8/26/08 6:37am] AmeriKa will never get it's collective head out of it's ASS. If u want some censored shit.......go elsewhere. [Edited 8/26/08 6:19am] That should not stop you from voting Jellybean. That's what the haters want you to do, to not exercise your right to vote. We have to remember that there's still a lot of racists out there that do not want to see this man become President. I fear for his life in this country, because much of the mentality in America regarding race issues, hasn't changed very much in the past 60 years. America is still very much a very, racist country. We still have a lot of work to do as far as accepting persons from various race/religious backgrounds. Don't give up. [Edited 8/26/08 6:55am] http://prince.org/msg/15/286132

[Edited 8/26/08 6:19am] I felt that way after the last two elections. I wanted to just stop voting. I could not do that for this election. Even though I am not in the US, I still went through all of the procedures to get my absentee ballot. No way am I going to give up my opportunity to vote in this election. Too important. I just hope the same shit does not happen again with the faulty voting machines like I saw in person in Florida.

http://latimesblogs.latim...ssina.html Plot unfolds to assassinate Obama on national TV, a 4th arrest, more details More details emerging from Denver as we write this in the predawn hours on the now suspected plot to assassinate Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama with a high-powered rifle on national television during his outdoor acceptance speech at Invesco Field Thursday night. Authorities have reported a fourth arrest in the unfolding plot that The Ticket first wrote about here a few hours ago at the end of Monday night's Democratic National Convention events at the Pepsi Center. We knew then that authorities in suburban Aurora had stopped a pickup truck for swerving between lanes early Sunday morning in what they thought was a routine drunk driving incident. But in the rented vehicle of Tharin Gartrell, a 28-year-old convicted felon they found two high-powered scoped rifles, ammunition, sighting scopes, radios, a cellphone, a bulletproof vest, wigs, drugs and fake IDs. According to Brian Masss of Denver's KCNC Channel 4, under questioning Gartrell implicated two other men -- Nathan Johnson, who is 32, and Shawn Adolph, who is 33 -- and Johnson's girlfriend, Natasha Gromack. Johnson also reportedly confirmed the plot to FBI and Secret Service interrogators. (See video below.) One of the men, Adolph, reportedly wore a ring with the Nazi swastika. He was injured when he jumped out of a hotel window fleeing Secret Service agents. All are now in custody on drug and weapons charges. The U.S. Atty. Troy Eid declined to elaborate on Monday but said there is no credible threat to the party's convention or to the freshman Illinois senator, who was campaigning in Kansas City Monday and traveling to Montana today. But the television station reports that under questioning the men admitted there was indeed a plot to kill Obama during his speech before some 70,000 supporters and a nationwide television audience. More details are expected to emerge later today when Eid holds a news conference at 4 p.m. Denver time. --Andrew Malcolm [Edited 8/26/08 4:17am] Expect more. I hear what you are saying 2elijah, Hatrina, and Shanti. I just get so ticked off that people would want to hurt anyone. And then when you see and hear that the KKK and the Aryan Nation are actually bragging about taking out Obama, if he wins, and nothing is being done.... “Although it is not true that all conservatives are stupid people, it is true that most stupid people are conservative.” John Stuart Mill

I was just blowing off steam. I would still vote. Every time I go down South and see my aunts and uncles, people who were in the Civil Rights movement, and hear their stories and look at the battle wounds and pictures, I gotta vote. I can't let those pioneers down. I was just as frustrated the last two elections as I am right now. Still gotta do my part. No matter what group says what.
