I notice two doves and begin to admire the grace and beauty of these birds of peace and joy Have you ever seen two doves in love? One dove slightly raises her wings playfully and coos while her beau looks upon her, as if he is softly whispering “I love you” and she responds with coyness from his affection They stay close, as though no dark clouds, harsh rain or fate can keep them apart A love between two beautiful creatures that even nature cannot touch Then suddenly, both doves lift off together with their wings beautifully spread across the clear, blue sky like two angels leaving a sense of love, peace joy and beauty to share with the rest of the world Have you ever seen two doves in love? (For my Aunt and inspired by my Mother) Copyright 2008 2elijah (CH) [Edited 7/6/08 14:16pm] Very Nice~Such Beauty and Joy You bring to Your Aunt and Mother

Thanks Maia7...appreciate it. My Mother told me about my aunt who is now 83 years old, who once aspired to be a singer, and wrote and sang a song that had the line "Have you ever seen two doves in love?" and that was the only line of the song my Mother remembered years later, My Aunt and Mother's favorite birds were always doves. My Mom always referred to doves as God's birds, so I thought I'd write a poem dedicated to both of them, especially since my Aunt never had a chance to realize her dream. http://prince.org/msg/15/286132

That's beautiful ![]() We live in a culture that discourages empathy. A culture that too often tells us our principle goal in life is to be rich, thin, young, famous, safe, and entertained.

Cool! I got the title for my poem from my mother who told me a story of my Aunt, who wrote a song when she was younger called "Have you ever seen two doves in love" so I thought, I'd write a poem to dedicate to my mom and aunt. http://prince.org/msg/15/286132

Now I understand something lovely a little bit better. I imitate the song of the dove and each day make up little stories about why one is alone, or why three sit together. They sing back to me from their high wire perch.
