three color combinations

Without blending or variations,
What three colors do you think compliment each other in a painting or drawing?

Have you ever been told certain colors don't match?
Someone once told me blue and brown don't match. neutral
Now,..silver and yellow, lol
the first color i see working with these two would be brown.

Working with three colors,i would choose black, blue, and green.

So,here's to three color combinations....

I love blending colors. I also like abstract art, for some reason, I was always fascinated by it, and it does involve a lot of color blending. I haven't painted in a while, but with winter coming, I may get back into it, since I'm a homebody during the cold weather months and find myself usually desiring to paint during that time of the year.

That's a nice piece of art by the way Tony.

Thank you 2elijah.
I really wanted to see the combination.I did several variations.
Although the yellow in some instances is too soft against the silver, the brown
seems to balance them where needed.

I'm a total amateur.. lol I actually have done most of it in black, white and gray. I have used black, white, gray and brown. I may be too embarassed to post one of them here, but I would have to use my camera phone or a camera, to take copy of t and post it, which in many cases it will not show up as nice as the original one.

I hope this is not a silly question, but are your paintings done by computer?

lol
I usually draw/sketch in black, white and shades of grey.I love it,because I notice more details in my paintings after a sketch.
I've done a few paintings in black&white.I have one I want to post.
Anyway you can post them is all good.
If you scan the image first the transfer should go easier. You will also create a file that can be worked anyway you like.

I love your question..I do both.Whenever I post an image I try to give the medium.
There are amazing programs out there. But nothing thus far compares to really using the actual tools.
Well..actually the clean-up time is better with the computer. lol
I struggled with this for some time, but it's a powerful medium.
And does have several benefits.
Portfolio's come to mind right away..

This one is cool. Right away I noticed the image, in the center, coming together like two beings wrapped around each other as one, before I saw the title of it.

Thank You.
Hanging on to the original idea in an abstract painting can be a challenge sometimes.Especially with thoughts and ideas distracting..

Nice work! I love the blues and greens.

Actually I have a gold necklace similar
to the entwined beings...abstract like that as well.
I should take a picture of it or scan it...the likeness
is uncanny.
