these two songs have a very similar vibe indeed. I would have 2 give the edge 2 when you were mine. the first ave 1982 performance with that kicking quitar riff still blows me away!!! I could never take the place was written in 1982 and is a fine song in itself!!

"When You Wer'e Mine." is close to my heart...although...I love "I Can't Take the Place of your Man." too..

when you were mine you were all i ever wanted to do,now i spend my time,following him whenever he's with you...

i could never take the place is pop rock gem with diffrent kind of subject almoust social so i think those two can't compare

but still my vote goes to when you were mine

Both songs are great. But When You Were Mine is, quite simply, one of my favorite songs ever, by anyone.

i give the edge 2 "your man" because of that keyboard intro....makes me wanna hit the woodshed....

This line is made of gold.

Same with this one.

'When You Were Mine' is better overall... but it doesn't have that bittersweet solo !
