The political system has always been more than the final decision maker, and the speaker chosen to best articulate the duties at hand.

Is he scared that if Barack fails in any way, then he may be humiliated? Or is he soo busy making a new album that he aint noticed the elections.. or, is he a Republican.
Thoughts for and against this theory please. Please dont move to politics, as this is about Prince. Based on wat he has said in some interviews and some of his lyrics, I don't think Prince's issues are as a result of JW's teachings. He's always voiced his (disappointing) opinion with the (political) system and the way the government operates for a long time (especially where it concerns poor ppl and wars). If he does perform (or wateva) at some political something, then it may be because he sincerely feels things will get better. Judging on how he feels about Abe Lincoln, I would say that he leans towards the Democrats. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

if u think about some of prince's political songs and who was the president at the time of him writting these songs it should become crystal clear on what side he falls under:
I'm on the phone with Clarence Willliams III 2 bitch slap Prince again. Then I'm going 2 tie Prince up and let Apples have her revenge and bitchslap him again!

Yes he is. | |

If Prince hasn't voted in 10 years or more than he's NOT anything.

ronnie talk 2 russia (regan) sign o the times (regan) money don't matter 2 nite (bush sr) dear mr man (idiot bush) I think it's hard to pin down Prince's political stance but I have a few thoughts on your examples. Ronnie Talk 2 Russia isn't necessarily a pro-Reagan song. It probably just means that communist Russia is a bad country regardless of whether the president in the US is a republican or a democrat. About Money Don't Matter... there's the line that says: "So what if we're controllin' all the oil, is it worth a child dying for? (Is it worth it?)" This would seem very anti-war, perhaps both the first and second Gulf war. In Dear Mr. Man he sings: "Who said that 2 kill is a sin then started every single war that Ur people been in? Who said that water is a precious commodity then dropped a big old black oil slick in the deep blue sea?" Strong anti-war and strong environmentalism. I would say these examples lean towards the democrats but I'm sure he has his strong disagreements with them too.

I don't know what anyone can call themselves other than frustrated to know that there is a solution of rearrangement built into things. A Bird's eye perspective can see that there is too much over here, and not enough over there.

Maybe one of the most astute lyric prince ever wrote was "Ain't no sense in voting, same song with a different name" And it's just as true with Obama as it is about the last half-dozen selected controlled puppets. You're deluding yourself if you think otherwise... It'll be a case of Obama the Farmer leading the Sheeple to the slaughterhouse... And to compare obama with MLK is fucking retarded, insulting and clueless...

Someone cited Ronnie and Sign and Money and Dear Mr Man... Do remember this is the man that wrote Free and America. At best, Prince's political espousals have been hackneyed, at worst naive. You must also remember that this is a true capitalist, and as such... I'd say Republican... also, wasn't theer some documented evidence of Prince donating to the Republican Party at some point in the past? If that's the case, then I would conclude that he has Republican leanings... though he, like us all, has the prerogative to change his mind. "words are like shoes, they're just something you stand on."

[Edited 11/13/08 8:15am] you mean he hates him? He does not think to highly of him. Take a listen to the track, "Family Name". "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

In which case, as history's Democrats and Republicans reversed position in modern times, that makes it seem like prince is in fact a republican. Proud member of the .Org Conservative Union

Don't get me wrong... Prince's is all kinds of Republican in Family Name... he mentions Lincoln by name in Avalanche, that's all... and, I might add, makes a good call in this regard. "words are like shoes, they're just something you stand on."

The main thing is the financial imbalance that exists amongst the people... An escessively wealthy person can spend 5 dollars, and Save 5 dollars with interest collecting in a bank. The middle class can spend 5 dollars, and Save a dollar in the bank. The poor person can spend 5 dollars. The interest that is earned on stable money...has created the excessively poor. Either party should be able to see that this is the problem worldwide. Where does our hero stand? In the middle class? The poor?
